Group Chief Executive Officer
Farid Chedid is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Chedid Capital Holding group of companies.
He founded Chedid Re in 1998 as a reinsurance broker and underwriting agencies operating in the Middle East, Africa and parts of Europe. Within a few years, Chedid Re became a regional powerhouse and a global top 20 reinsurance broker.
In 2009, Mr. Chedid established Seib Insurance Company with a talented team of professionals, which went on to become a major insurance company in Qatar focusing on corporate and complex risks.
Moreover, Mr. Chedid is the Chairman and CEO of Chedid Insurance Brokers established in Lebanon, Cyprus, Turkey, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His repertoire also includes being a board Member of a joint venture in City Brokers, the leading insurance broker in Mauritius and East Africa, as well as serving as the Chairman of Al Manara Insurance Services, one of UAE’s premier insurance broker.
Farid Chedid’s has been listed in the Power 50 ‘most influential individual in the insurance industry in the Middle East and North Africa’ title for 10years in a row, in addition to being awarded the ‘Middle East and Africa Industry Achiever of the Year 2016’.
Mr. Chedid is a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador; a Fellow of the Middle East Leadership Initiative (MELI), member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN); a member of the board of Endeavor, Lebanon Chapter, a member of the Young President Organization (YPO), Lebanon Chapter, and a member of the MENA Insurance CEO Club (MICC).
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the UK, he holds a Masters in Risk Management from NYU Stern School of Business, USA; a Masters in Finance from ESCP Europe, France; a Masters in Management from Universite Paris IX Dauphine, France, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Law from London Metropolitan University, UK.
ALI HADDARAHChief Financial Officer
Ali Haddarah joined Chedid Capital (Holding) in 2015 as Group CFO. He leads the Group’s overall financial strategy and has management oversight and responsibility for all corporate finance functions including mergers and acquisitions, control and reporting, planning and analysis, budgets, tax and treasury.
Ali has over 17 years of international experience in the finance field. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration-Finance, both from the American University of Beirut. At INSEAD in France, he completed the Corporate Financial Strategy in Global Markets executive education program. Mr. Haddarah is also a CFA Charter holder and a member of the CFA Institute USA since 2005, and recently a member of the Institute of Public Accountants Australia. He taught Financial and Managerial Accounting at Olayan School of Business – American University of Beirut between 2012 and 2015. Ali is equipped with a broad expertise in acquisitions, raising bank facilities, corporate and tax structures, building finance teams, valuations, and financial analysis.
Prior to joining Chedid Group, Ali spent 12 years at Group Averda where he assumed a number of finance roles including Group Chief Financial Officer in his closing years, he then joined Matchbyte Group (London-Melbourne) as Group CFO.
JOSEPH FADDOULExecutive Director
Joseph Faddoul is the Executive Director at Chedid Capital. He is appointed to assist in the organic development and growth of our Direct Broking Insurance operations, Chedid Insurance Brokers.
Joseph was previously Chedid Re's Executive Director. He helped grow the company to a regional leader in the reinsurance broking, responsible for ChedidRe day-to-day-operations, as well as leading the company’s development and strategy from building partnerships to advising the CEO and senior leadership on business and policy issues.
Joseph is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London.
KARIM ZARKAExecutive DirectorCorporate & Communication
Karim Zarka is the Executive Director at Chedid Capital Holding and Chedid Insurance Brokers in charge of Marketing, Communication and Business Development.
Karim holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Affairs from the Beirut University College.
He started his career in France, in 1992 with Kettaneh Group Holding managing one of their industrial subsidiaries. In 1994, he moved to Beirut to head the Telecom Division of Kettaneh Group.
From 1999 to 2005, Karim set up and managed various telecom companies and joint ventures specialized in value-added services and pre-paid calling cards in the Middle East and North Africa.
In 2005, Karim joined Grey Group in the capacity of Managing Director where he established and managed the Doha operation. During his 11 years as Managing Director of Grey Group Doha, he successfully pitched and won some of the most prestigious projects and accounts such as Doha 2016 Asian Games, Qtel, Vodafone, Commercial Bank of Qatar, Qatar Airways, Ministry of Public Health, Qatar Rail, Barwa Bank, Qatari Diar and Qatar Financial Center, to name a few.
Before joining Chedid Capital, Karim was appointed as Managing Director at Memac Ogilvy for their Jeddah operation.
Mohamed KhalifehDirectorGovernance, Risk & Compliance
Mohamed Khalifeh graduated from Saint-Joseph University with a Finance Degree, then pursued a Master degree in Risk Management & Insurance Techniques at Université Paris IX-Dauphine. An expert with 16 years of experience, mainly in Audit, Finance and Risk Management.
Prior to joining Chedid, Mohamed spent 14 years at PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) where he reached a Director position. From 2002 till 2011, he was working in the Insurance Group in PwC Paris where he specialized in the audit and consulting of insurance and reinsurance.
His work spanned across a range of organizations including French and European insurance and reinsurance companies. Mohamad joined PwC Middle East in 2011, where he was engaged in delivering business assurance services to local and international clients mainly in insurance, reinsurance and Financial Services sector.
Apart from the above, he has been involved in due diligence assignments and projects for the Ministry of Economy and Trade in Lebanon - Insurance Control Commission - relating to insurance. Mohamed is also an instructor at Saint Joseph University since 2011, where he teaches Insurance Accounting and Financial Analysis courses.
Me. Nathalie FreihaGroup Legal Counsel
Nathalie Freiha graduated from Saint-Joseph University with a Law Degree, then pursued a Master degree in Computer and Law, with particular emphasis on intellectual property law and e-commerce.
A legal expert with 20 years of experience, mainly in Corporate and Commercial transactions She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Law with Merit in the specialization: International Dispute Resolution from the University of London and is currently preparing for the LLM in International Business Law at the University of London.
Prior to joining Chedid, Nathalie spent 13 years at Naoum Farah Law Offices as Senior Lawyer - Head of Corporate Practice.
Wassim Jawish is Chedid Capital Group Finance Director. He is responsible for finance, accounting and treasury activities.
Prior to joining Chedid in 2010, Mr. Jawish was the Regional Finance Manager at Rotana Holding in KSA, Finance Manager at Syrian Kuwaiti Insurance company in Syria and Budgeting and Financial Reporting Manager at Arabia Insurance company in Lebanon.
He is a member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountant USA, he holds an MBA from the American University of Science & Technology and a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York.
Mario RizkSenior ManagerInvestments, Mergers & Acquisitions
Mario Rizk is Chedid Capital’s Investments, Mergers and Acquisitions senior manager. His role is to support high management in business acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships including strategic and financial analysis, determination of synergies, valuations, due diligence supervision and contractual negotiations. His role also encompasses the asset management of the Group’s financial investments portfolios.
Mr. Rizk has over 13 years of international experience in the Project Management, Business Development and Finance fields. He holds two Master’s degrees, one in Civil Engineering from the French Ivy League Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and a second in Finance from Paris X Nanterre University. He also completed the Building Businesses in Emerging Markets course from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Rizk occupied several managerial positions in blue chip companies. He started his career at Mazars & Guerard in M&A advisory as a Senior Consultant, then moved to Bouygues Construction in Project Management as a Lead Engineer. Prior to joining Chedid Capital, Mr. Rizk was in charge of the treasury and M&A operations for the Averda group.
Josiane KaramManagerCompliance & AML
Josiane Karam is Chedid Capital Holding Compliance & AML Manager in charge of developing, implementing and administering Compliance & AML policies, procedures and standards of conduct. Josiane is the approved Compliance and MLRO function for group entities in Qatar regulated by the Qatar Financial Center Regulatory Authority. Prior to handling Compliance and AML on group level, Josiane was a consultant at Chedid Corporate Solutions in charge of assisting in consultancy projects and setting up group companies in the GCC.
Josiane holds a Bachelor in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in Lebanon. She’s Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and an Associate at the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (ACSI).
Kawthar Abou RichManagerHuman Resources
An HR Professional with over 10 years of experience.
Kawthar Abou Rich joined Chedid Capital Holding in 2013 and is currently holding the position of Human Resources Manager.
She is responsible for managing human resources activities across the Group including Manpower Planning, Organizational Development, Recruitment, Training, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits and Employee Relations.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Universite Saint Joseph and Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification from the HR Certification Institute.
May Medawar started her career in 1982 with Rodolphe Saade & Co SAL as a Personal Advisor to the General Manager handling financial, legal and administrative matters.
After spending 18 years with Rodolphe Saade & Co SAL, Mrs. Medawar launched a new company involved in trading and distribution.
She was then employed in the Administrative department of a major retail company before joining Chedid group in 2004 as an Administrative Manager.
Patrick KassisManagerInformation Technology
Patrick Kassis joined Chedid Capital Holding in 2015 under the capacity of Group IT Manager. He is responsible for leading the group’s technology strategies and managing overall IT operations and related projects.
Patrick is a Senior IT professional with over 15 years experience in the information technology fields covering networks, systems, databases, audit, and security. He has a diverse background in Telecommunications, Banking, with extensive experience in research, and enterprise computing. His initiatives include improving business services through embracing effective and efficient use of technology; creating business models for delivering new services; and leading strategic initiatives to transform the technology department to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to group needs.
Patrick occupied several managerial positions, in many reputable companies, starting his career at Comium as an IT Manager, then moving to Bahrain with Hits-Africa as Group IT Manager, NOC Director at NavLink KSA, Head of IT at iTel , IT Security Director at Zain KSA, and prior to joining Chedid Capital, he was employed as Senior Project Manager at Inkript.
He holds a Master’s degree in Computer and Communications Engineering in addition to worldwide accredited certifications and Diplomas: PMP, CISA, CISSP, CISM, ITIL.
Sahar KhairallahManagerOffice of the Chairman
Sahar Khairallah joined Chedid Capital Holding in 2011 and is currently holding the position of Chairman’s office Manager & Marketing Manager.
She performs administrative duties for Chairman and Members of the Board of Directors. She is also responsible for coordinating and developing marketing plans that align with the business strategy while maintaining the group corporate image.
She holds a bachelor degree in Management from Notre Dame University.
